Elle Adams, a 30-year-old content creator from East London, experienced a life-changing situation in October 2020 when she woke up and found that she could not urinate no matter how much she drank.
After 14 months of living with this condition, Elle was diagnosed with Fowler’s syndrome, a rare inability to pass urine normally.
In December 2021, doctors confirmed that she would have to use a catheter for the rest of her life.
However, Elle underwent an operation in January 2023 to have sacral nerve stimulation, which helps to regulate bowel muscles, and now she can urinate more easily.
Elle says that the procedure has made a huge difference in her life and is grateful for the improvement.
