Santa Barbara, California – In a tragic and disturbing case, Matthew Coleman, a man obsessed with the QAnon conspiracy theory, has been charged with murdering his two young children in Mexico.

Matthew Coleman believed that his wife Abby had infected their children with serpent DNA and that they were “shapeshifters.”

On August 7, 2021, Coleman grabbed his children, Kaleo, 2, and 10-month-old Roxy, and fled to Mexico.

In a later interview, Coleman told investigators that he killed the children with a fishing spear.

Abby, who was packing for a trip at the time of the incident, was left waiting for her husband’s return and did not initially fear for the safety of her children.

Only when Coleman was arrested upon attempting to re-enter the US did Abby learn the horrifying truth about what had happened to her children.

Coleman has been charged with murdering US citizens on foreign soil and is held in a California federal prison.

At the same time, psychiatrists work to determine his state of mind at the time of the killings. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

After the murders, Abby moved to Texas to be with her family and try to heal.

A family friend stated that Abby is struggling with conflicting emotions, feeling pity and concern for Matthew sometimes and wanting nothing to do with him at others.
